Meeting and Event Catering

Meeting and Event Catering (MEC) Certificate

This certificate program teaches students to deliver maximum value to their meeting ad event clients, no matter their budget. The curriculum focuses not only on planning and menu writing, but also essential process and procedures, including costing menus, safety, staffing, and negotiation techniques. Students will graduate MEC with knowledge and skills needed to satisfy both the pickiest guests and most cost-conscious managers and clients.

This program is worth 45 CPCE contact hours toward initial certification or recertification application for the CPCE designation. The CPCE Certified Professional in Catering and Events is offered by the National Association for Catering and Events (NACE).

Why you should take MEC

Food and Beverage is often the single biggest line item for any event, but is also the one element that most people remember, good or bad. The instructors will take your foodie knowledge and add skills that will allow you to delight hundreds. This program will complement any other TISOH offering, but is especially useful for those going into events and weddings.

Thank you for helping me during my time at TISOH. Your friendly encouragement and willingness to help surely did advance my career in events management.
