The Executive Diploma in Hospitality Operations is an advanced credential for those in supervisory capacities or above. This program is cognizant of the needs of working professionals and awarded to students who demonstrate competency in hospitality supervision and management. The curriculum is designed to enhance professional competency for students with experience in the industry, with an emphasis on human capital management and data driven decision making.
Key Program Topics
Executive Diploma students will learn competencies in hospitality leadership and human resources management. Additionally, students will develop skills in hospitality industry analytics, with marketing and sales fundamentals in order to inculcate a strategic mind-set necessary in today’s competitive hospitality market.
Comprised of five required courses, courses can be completed in the classroom at the Las Vegas campus, or online. For convenience, students can choose between in class and online programs. Normal completion time is 8 months.

HHR: Hospitality Human Resources
This course offers an understanding of fundamental human resource principles and applications specific for individuals in different sectors of the hospitality industry. Students will additionally gain a working understanding of human resource management and its vital role in the hospitality industry.
HLM: Hospitality Leadership and Management
This course educates students to better relate supervisory responsibilities to the mission of the organization. Through self-introspection and understanding of practical day-by-day responsibilities, students will be able to hone their problem-solving skills, set individual goals congruent with those of the organization, delegate to team members and improve their department or unit organizational effectiveness.
HMS: Hospitality Marketing and Sales
This course is designed to provide a broad coverage of functional areas, with discussion on price, product, promotion and price across rooms division, food & beverage, and conferences. With an emphasis on applicable skills, the course presents essential knowledge on distribution, revenue management, customer relationship management, market segmentation and trends.
HRMA: Hospitality Revenue Management & Analytics
Data driven decision making is increasingly important in the hospitality industry. This course will introduce students to both the mathematics and methods of analysis that drive important day-to-day and strategic processes in order to maximize financial performance. Student will learn to produce, interpret, and act upon data developed through STR reports and the most commonly used metrics in the industry.
HC: Hospitality Colloquia
This course is to bring together the key topics discussed in the entire program through case studies and discussions. From a management perspective, students are to examine and provide solutions based on best practices and practical realism. Students will additionally experience the components of executive presence in order to emerge as a stronger candidate for advancement in their career.
