Meet TISOH alum Hope Bellueme, Event Producer for AREA15. Coming from a background in the banking industry, Hope developed a passion for event planning and decided to enroll in TISOH’s event planning diploma program. Hope was drawn to TISOH’s focus on short-term learning, and the fact that the school offered classes taught by industry professionals, which she believed would be a tremendous help in landing her dream job. Hope was not disappointed - in her alumni spotlight, Hope talks about her TISOH experience, and the benefit of learning from true industry professionals. Hope says, “... event industry pros and my instructors, Lenny Talarico and Kelly Thompson… were both instrumental in getting me to where I am today because of their knowledge and mentorship support especially after graduation.”
Hope’s advice for TISOH students? “Get as much hands-on experience as possible. I volunteered myself in every event opportunity available with an open mind and strong work ethic. The event industry is a 24/7 job and it is not easy, however, it can be extremely rewarding if you put the work into it.” Hope is demonstrating that work ethic now, in her “dream job” as an Event Producer for AREA15. AREA15 is Las Vegas’ newest immersive entertainment and events complex, and as an Event Producer, Hope manages public and private events from corporate, conventions, conferences, social parties, concerts, and festivals. And it all began with TISOH’s Event Planning courses!
Are you interested in Wedding Coordination and Design?
Meet Brenda Geller, owner of Infinite Event Design, a wedding and event planning firm. Brenda came to TISOH at the age of 40, looking for a career change. Brenda wanted to focus on doing what she loves, and she chose TISOH because she wanted to “learn the industry from the best people.” In Brenda’s alumni spotlight, Brenda says, “I enjoyed being around so many top-notch people from the hospitality industry, going to site visits and most importantly, meeting new colleagues who became my friends.” What advice does Brenda have for current TISOH students? “Keep learning and never stop. Learning is what keeps us relevant and on top of industry trends... be ready to help, support, and collaborate with other fellow artists, planners, and vendors. Remember that being present reminds people of who you are.” Brenda’s TISOH experience came full circle when she accepted a position as a TISOH instructor and a director of the Alumni Board. And it all started with TISOH’s Diploma in Hospitality Operations!
