Choose your career track in the industry.

Develop your skills and knowledge of meeting and event coordination and management. Learn about both the event and meeting sides of the industry through lectures and discussions taught by industry and academic professionals. All instructors have Master’s degrees, CMP, CSEP, CPCE or similar designations.

TISOH students also have the option to take this course only for the Conference Management and Event Planning [CMEP] Certificate.

Develop a comprehensive knowledge of hotel operations and hospitality services. Gain knowledge in the front desk and housekeeping operations of hotels, and master your interpersonal skills. Earn additional certificates in front desk operations and housekeeping management from the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute.

TISOH students also have the option to take this course only for Hotel Operations [HOC] Certificate.

Develop a foundation of knowledge in wedding planning and the confidence to succeed in the industry. Gain competency in wedding management, and master the skills to plan, design, coordinate and execute weddings of any scale and type.

Study and master food and beverage operations across segments in the commercial service category. FBO trains students to organize and manage a department; create properly costed and nutritious menus; market and sell with effective pricing strategies; produce quality food and beverage service safely; and properly plan and layout food-service facility operations.

TISOH students also have the option to take this course only for the Food and Beverage Operations [FBO] Certificate.

Get a practical, hands-on primer for producing and managing experiential events that bring buyers and sellers together. Learn to engage the senses of the audience, facilitate product and service promotion, help businesses educate the public, and lay out the complex mini-cities that are modern trade shows.

Develop an understanding of how organizations in each industry segment function and succeed, and identify the various departments that support them. Learn the theories and best practices behind management, marketing, and human resources in the hospitality industry. Master the fundamentals of quality guest service.

A thorough primer in hospitality marketing and sales, this course covers a broad range of topics and emphasizes practical, applicable skills. Program topics include price, product, promotion and price across rooms division, food & beverage, and conferences. Learn essential knowledge on distribution, revenue management, customer relationship management, market segmentation and trends.

A course designed to develop fundamental supervisory skills suitable for every department in the hospitality industry. Master the skills to be an effective supervisor and leader. Learn to identify your own leadership style, and develop your skills in critical areas such as communication, motivation and team building. Observe the inner workings of successful hospitality properties- from first-class hotels and resorts, to major event venues, and sought-after wedding venues. Thoughtfully assess your path in the industry through reflection and directed writing.

If a Diploma student is not able to fulfill the externship course requirement i.e. due to illness or lack of vaccination whereby an externship host holds such requirement, an alternative is available. The Hospitality Capstone course will task Diploma students to apply what they have learned to real-world projects. Upon completion of the Capstone course, the student will fulfill the Externship course requirement, which would prevent delay in completing the full Diploma program.
