Hospitality Externship (HEX)

Hospitality Externship (HEX) Add-on Course

This course affords students the opportunity to go behind the scenes in top hospitality properties in Las Vegas and around the world. During the course, students will shadow industry professionals, observe the inner workings of various hospitality properties (including hotels, resorts, event venues, and wedding chapels), and assess their own career paths through reflection and directed writing.

Key Program Topics

Students will apply their knowledge of a particular hospitality industry segment through frequent reflection and directed writings on the hospitality discipline of their choice. For instance, diploma students most interested in conference management will be assigned to properties specializing in that segment; all assignments and assessments will encourage the student to practically explore and demonstrate academic competence in that discipline.

My externship was quite an eye-opening experience. Paul Christian
TISOH Alum

Eligibility

Students must be enrolled in the third (or final) semester of the Diploma in Hospitality Operations Program, and have decided on either Art of Concierge (AOC), Conference Management & Event Planning (CMEP), Hotel Operations (HOC) or Wedding Coordination & Design (WCD) as their elective.

Students in these Certificate programs: Art of Concierge (AOC), Conference Management & Event Planning (CMEP), Hotel Operations (HOC) or Wedding Coordination & Design (WCD), may also enroll. Graduates (TISOH alumni) of these certificate programs or any TISOH diploma, may also enroll.

Both classroom and online format students are eligible to take HEX. Online student externships can be arranged in their home city. They can also opt to visit Las Vegas to perform externships.
